Wheeler's Campground promotes an environmentally friendly camping experience. Here are some simple things we do to conserve water, energy, and waste. We use compact fluorescent and photo sensor lighting. We recycle. We use low -flow fixtures in the shower house. We turn off the lights! We use recycled paper products. We use mulch and native plants in landscaping to reduce the need for watering and herbicides. We urge campers to join us in energy conservation to perpetuate the health of our planet!

Here are some guidelines to lessen your impact and promote the "Leave No Trace" principles:

• Plan ahead and prepare

• Travel and camp on durable surfaces

• Dispose of waste properly

• Leave what you find

• Minimize campfire impacts

• Respect wildlife

• Be considerate of other visitors

• Open your RV windows rather than turning on the air conditioning

• Turn off the lights when you leave your unit

• Hang out towels and swimsuits to dry rather than using the dryers

• Use biodegradable soaps (we sell them in the camp store)

• Keep your campfire within the fire ring

• Stay on designated trails

• Listen to nature rather than your stereo

• Reduce-reuse-recycle!

• Take only pictures- leave only footprints!
